For Wednesday’s group I decided to make the focus breathing patterns. For most bilateral breathing wasn’t much of an issue – they already do it – extending the stroke count between breaths was more a challenge though. For those who never breathe bilaterally it’s useful to practice and can help balance out issues in the stroke.

The final session of the week focussed on recovery during the stroke – particularly useful for a couple of the swimmers in the pool. I don’t usually worry too much about how recovery is done, but in some cases poor recovery technique sets the swimmer up for a poor stroke and can point to other issues. As usual for those staying for the full 90 minutes I finished with specific drill work.
