Slots are calculated using the same technique as Ironman. This is based on the slot allocation spreadsheet that was seen over a year ago. However, because the athlete tracker doesn’t clearly identify DNS numbers (it often includes all athletes who signed up, not just those who turned up to compete), I can never be certain of the exact ratios of age groupers who made it into the water.

That’s why I always note that final numbers can vary from the calculation. Until Ironman start publishing their Kona slot allocations online, that’s the best I can do.

How did you calculate that two slots? I had athlete who placed second and did not get the slot.
