For the fifth year in a row I’ll be returning to Sands Beach Resort, Lanzarote for an early season training camp. As always there will be lots of cycling, swimming and running, but there’s only going to be a single week of camp in 2017. This means places are limited and as I’ve given first option to my athletes and previous attendees there are only two remaining spaces to fill.
The camp will run from Saturday, 4th March through to Saturday, 11th March with training planned for the 6 days in between. It costs £700.00 for half board accommodation shared with another athlete. All abilities are welcome – over the last four years I’ve coached beginners, experienced Ironmen and Kona qualifiers on camp.
The program will be heavily weighted towards the bike and the swim, but we’ll also have regular run sessions. Bike routes will take in the whole island and everyone will have the opportunity to ride the entire Ironman course during the week. Lanes are booked for daily swim sessions – a group set in the afternoon and early morning for one-to-one coaching. Runs tend to be shorter, but also competitive; we don’t spend too much time on our feet, but we make it count.
There will be a packed itinerary of training. How much you do is up to you, but I encourage everyone to push themselves to an appropriate level. This camp is very much about kickstarting the season, getting in a big week of work to set yourself up for the year ahead.
You can read more about previous camps in my camp reports. You’ll find more details and past itineraries on my training camp page. If you have any questions about the camp or you’d like to claim one of the remaining spots, get in touch.
