2020 Lanzarote Triathlon Training Camp

From Saturday, 29th February through to 7th March 2020 I will be hosting the eighth annual Coach Cox Lanzarote Training Camp at Sands Beach Resort. One week of coached swim sessions, swim video analysis, miles on the bike and quality run training to kickstart the 2020 season.

The camp is already two thirds full with previous attendees, but I have a limited number of places available. If you’re interested, get in touch.

Working through a Lanzarote training camp swim session

I run a friendly, supportive camp that is open to athletes of all abilities. The main focus and structure of the camp suits those racing Ironman and 70.3. As last year’s itinerary shows the schedule is big, but it’s also flexible and I will adapt plans towards individual needs. I encourage athletes to do as much as they can while respecting their experience and goals.

The swim focus is around improving technique while working hard. Every athlete on camp will receive a detailed video review of their swim alongside daily coached sessions that incorporate technique work and conditioning. The bike is about volume, with a variety of rides scheduled including a full loop of the Ironman course. Run volume is more moderate, but we ensure quality is there with hill and interval work during the week.

For more information you can read last year’s training camp itinerary – remember this is just a guide and sessions are adjusted to suit individuals.

You can also look back at reports from earlier training camps in my Lanzarote Training Camp section.

Riding in Lanzarote

The price of the 2020 camp is £750 for half board accommodation in a superior room (shared with one other athlete). A discount is available for anyone also signed up for coaching with me.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable and easily accommodate two athletes with all their equipment. They’re also right by the pool for the early swim starts! Buffet breakfast and dinner is included; athletes will need to cover additional food and drink costs each day, but these should be minimal.

Full details of the camp can be found on my training camp page. If you have any questions, or are interested in coming on the camp, email me.
